suwanee.com

I just happened to visit the Suwanee website and up popped my winning photo in the 2012 Snap Suwanee Competition. Smile!

"Snap Suwanee
Thirteen winning photographs in the 2012 Snap Suwanee photo competition are on display* at Suwanee City Hall through the remainder of this year. The winning photos represent a variety of Suwanee locales, including a variety of parks and the historic district.

"It's always fun to see what places and events draw photographers' focus each year," says Public Information Officer Lynne Bohlman DeWilde. "This year, we received a lot of Snowmageddon photos [from January 2011] as well as several photographs from the 9-11 ceremony and unveiling of the World Trade Center artifact.

In all, the City received 129 entries from 43 photographers in the annual photo competition. The photos are on exhibit along the lower-level back foyer at City Hall, located at 330 Town Center Avenue.

*Please note that the City Hall exhibit opened March 1, but will be temporarily taken down the week of March 5 in order to address an issue related to framing. The exhibit will reopen by March 12."

I have not had a chance to see the exhibit myself, but if you are in the area I invite you to go take a look.

Family Fun!

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to take pictures for family B.

It was a very warm afternoon, which was hard on everybody and especially the kids. Quite frankly, I was glad I was on the other side of the camera. But I was still able to capture some wonderfully natural family shots. Most times the pictures that just "happen" are the best - they tell a beautiful story.

I hope these pictures will conjure up some smiles and bring lasting enjoyment to the family.

Going Public

Last Friday I took the plunge and "went public"....or at least it felt like that to me! I didn't realize I would feel so vulnerable, it was like I was exposing my soul to the world.

I donated a photo shoot to be auctioned off in a silent auction at my son's preschool Spring Fling. As part of the donation, I was allowed to set up a table showcasing my fledgling business. I had fun planing my display all week and received many compliments for it!

Thank you to everybody who contributed, helped out and was at the event - it really meant the world to know I had that much support, I feel truly blessed!

I had some printed & framed pictures & multi-images, all the cards my friends have created with my images, as well as a presentation on a monitor - and of course I had to have some beautiful roses!

And so that was my first step in "going public".....exhilarating!
