A New Beginning | Photography, Sammamish WA

Oh my - oh my, how time has flown. It has been almost a year since I wrote in the blog. Life has been busy.

My family and I relocated to Seattle WA - or to be more exact Sammamish WA - in September last year. Prior to that we had 3 busy months of researching if we should move, making the decision and then getting the ball rolling. An avalanche followed: selling our house, buying a house, moving our belongings including 2 cars and the list goes on.

My first priority is and always will be my family, so I took some time off from the Photography business to get everybody settled into our new home and to make our house a cozy place for us.

We are now settled and very happy in this beautiful part of the world. The Pacific Northwest has so much to offer and we have so many places to explore and discover, it is so exciting. Life is good. I look forward to sharing our journey.

I have now registered Katja Wright Photography LLC in Washington and I'm getting the business back on track. Hopefully I'll have some new clients soon and I'll be able to share some moments from their sessions.

For now, you'll have to be happy with some 'Easter-egg-colouring-fun' with my son! We did this a year ago and I just took a look at the old pictures - what a difference a year makes. My "little" man looks so grown up now! It's all just going by way too fast.

So, just as Easter is the story of new beginnings, I see this time as a new beginning for my family as well as my company.

Every story has an ending.

But in life, every ending has a new beginning.

Happy Easter | Suwanee, GA Lifestyle Photography

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday, so we dyed some eggs yesterday.

Alex had fun with the jars of egg dye and I had some fun taking pictures, of course.

I hope everybody still covered in snow will be able to find their eggs this year!

Secret Information

Would you like to know a secret?
Well, I'll tell you one I know:
The Easter's Bunny's coming,
My mama told me so.

He'll bring a basket filled with eggs
And leave it in my yard,
And I will find it Easter morn,
If I look very hard.

I shouldn't tell my secret,
But I think it should be shared.
You ought to know that Bunny's coming,
So you can be prepared!

Wishing you all a blessed Easter with your families!

The Hunt is on!

On Tuesday I got together with my fabulous playgroup-friends and we organised a little Easter egg hunt for our little ones. I know it is not Easter yet but it was fun to do this activity with friends and just enjoy the lovely spring weather we are having - I adore all the fresh, lush green vegetation around, it makes for such a beautiful backdrop.

The kids had a blast and I had fun taking pictures of them. Although they were like moving targets racing around the lawn, in and out of the sun - a great learning curve for me!

{I've decided that I must start practicing "smiling" with Alex, all I get are these rather weird, cheesy grins that make it seem like I'm a dentist that is trying to check his teeth.}

Some Things That Easter Brings

Easter duck and Easter chick,

Easter eggs with chocolate thick.

Easter hats for one and all,

Easter Bunny makes a call!

Happy Easter always brings

Such a lot of pleasant things.

Chocolate Rabbit

Chocolate Rabbit

I got a chocolate rabbit
For an Easter treat,
A great big chocolate rabbit
Good enough to eat.

So I ate his ears on Sunday,
His nose I finished Monday.
Tuesday I nibbled on his feet.
I ate his tail on Wednesday
Thursday I kept on,
By Friday he was going,
Saturday he was gone.

Oh, I loved my chocolate rabbit
From the moment that he came,
And if I get another one,
I'll love him just the same.
