My little soccer man - Lil' Kickers Suwanee, GA

With the UEFA European Championship, one of the world's biggest sporting events, having just kicked off, I thought I'd share a few pictures of my little guy at his soccer classes.

This was a real test for my new gear. All I could do was crank up the ISO setting and see what happens, but the picture quality is quite unbelievable at ISO 4000.

During yesterdays class Alex played his first little "match", unfortunately I couldn't be there but I was told that he did really well and let's just say "stood his ground"!

Gwinnett Daily Post

Yesterday I came across the official write-up in the Gwinnett Daily Post about the 13 photos that won in the "2012 Snap Suwanee" contest. As many of you know I am one of the winners.

Have a look at the article: http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/news/2012/feb/25/13-photos-honored-in-snap-suwanee-contest/

My Photo is a Winner!

Very exciting news just came in: A photo that I submitted to the City of Suwanee's 2012 Snap Suwanee photo competition has been selected as one of only 13 winning photographs. The winning photo is of a boy (actually my son Alex) in the fountain, "Splish Splash Fountain Fun." This year they received 129 entries from 43 photographers.

The 2012 exhibit will be installed at City Hall by March 1. In addition to this exhibit, my photo MAY be included in a gallery of winning photos on the City's Facebook page and website as well as in stories printed by the Gwinnett Daily Post and other media. The City also may use Snap Suwanee photos in its publications and advertisements.

I am extremely happy and thank the City of Suwanee for this wonderful opportunity!

A day in Downtown Suwanee

I spent a little time at Downtown Suwanee a couple of times in the past few weeks and I thought I'd share a few images.

At the moment there are 15 works of art on show and I took the opportunity to take some shots of a few of them, there are still more I have to "discover".

Here is the original info from the City of Suwanee's website:
"Suwanee SculpTour is a walkable exhibit of original, outdoor sculptures on display through March 2012 in downtown Suwanee. The 2011 tour features 15 pieces on loan from various artists from around the country and close to home.  Each artist was paid a small stipend, and each of the sculptures is available for purchase."

For more info on the exhibition as well as the artists go to -

And since the fountain is right there and my son Alex loves racing around in it, I thought I'd add a few of him for good measure! And of course last but not least one picture of my best friend in the whole wide world!

PS: Don't you think the picture of the water at sunset looks like a dancer with his hands up over his head? I thought it was an incredible capture!
