Fabulous Family Session - Sims Lake Park | Family Photography, Suwanee GA

A few weeks ago I met up with the D Family at Sims Lake Park to play and take some family pictures. Carl is an Australian and so we had the obligatory Rugby banter (well as much as I as a woman can banter about sport)....the Aussies were actually playing the Boks (South African Rugby team) that day!! Luckily I took these pictures BEFORE the Boks beat the Aussies......whew!

I had so much fun with this lovely young family. Carl and Elizabeth are still newly weds and together with Elizabeth's beautiful daughter, Josi, and their gorgeous son, Christian, they made for some adorable pictures.

Christian is a fun and very busy 1 year old and as you'll see in the pictures he wanted nothing to do with my little chair - I had though he might sit for me for 1 minute or so....yeah, well, we went with the flow and got some stunning shots. He has the biggest most striking dark brown eyes, quite amazing. His big sister Josi tried her best to entertain him so that I could get some good shots. I enjoyed taking pictures of Josi, and really love the ones we got at the fence.

Thanks again Elizabeth, Carl, Josie and Christian for coming out and letting me capture some memories for you!

C Squared!

Here are a few pictures from a Christmas Mini-shoot I did in November. I had not posted them so that Christmas Cards would still be a surprise. It was challenging getting this active 14 month old boy and his 4 year old sister to look into my direction at the same time but luckily I did manage to get a few fun images and the Christmas Card looked great (if I say so myself)!

Baby becomes Toddler - happy 1st Birthday!

Last Saturday I had tons of fun taking pictures of my buddy baby C at our local park, except he's not such a baby anymore and now seriously on the move! This must be one of the most challenging ages to document because they are on the go, go, go and always looking down as they do so. I was running back and forth with him at times, so I got my exercise in that day! At some point I wondered if knee & elbow pads as well as a helmet would be appropriate, so that I could just fling myself on the ground to catch a shot of his adorable face.

It always surprises me how we (the Mom and I) plan the shoot meticulously, discuss props and clothing well in advance, get everything set up beautifully and then it just all happens completely differently. I have these visions in my head and in the end the result is utterly gorgeous but completely different. Just goes to show that I am at the mercy of my 1 year old subject and that keeps me on my toes (literally too!). But I have so much fun doing it!

This was my 4th session with Master C. and it has been an absolute joy to watch him grow. For me it is all about these relationships and the opportunity they give me to witness the development and change as well as seeing the joy my capturing the moments brings to those that let me be a part of the magic!
