Beautiful Bare Belly - Maternity Shoot

I am so, so, so excited to share these! During my last maternity shoot I didn't get the chance to take any bare belly shots due to time constraints and I've been looking forward to doing this for so long. Well, the day finally arrived!

There is something so magical, so beautiful about a bare, pregnant belly it makes me rather broody. Behind that skin and a few other little layers, there is a tiny human being developing and growing every minute of every day in preparation for the miracle of birth. And it all just happens. Naturally. Automatically. Perfectly. That is truly divine!

It took me some time to get the settings right on the indoor shots, but when I worked it out the results were just lovely.

To the parents-to-be: I wish you all the very best for the birth of your little miracle, I can't wait to meet the "Bun"!

I'll leave you all with some truly inspiring words:

On Children

 Kahlil Gibran
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Sweet Maternity Session at Piedmont Park in Atlanta GA

As most of you know from my Facebook page, I had a lot of fun doing a maternity session before I went away to Ireland. The editing had to wait until I got back and then the process was slightly challenging because my son is at home and I've had contractors in and out of my house building a new screened-in porch - it has been busy!

But over the weekend I finally got them all done and after hearing back from my friends and clients they are super happy with their pictures. And I must mention that they did get over 200 images. whew!

The parents-to-be are so thrilled and excited about the arrival of their first little one. They have decided not to find out if it is a girl or a boy, which makes the anticipation just that little bit sweeter. For now they call him or her the "bun", which I think is adorable!

Here are some pictures we took at the park. We also took some bare tummy shots at home and I'll share some of those precious pictures with you in my next blog post. Stayed tuned and thanks for stopping by!

I'm here, I promise & Fun Maternity Shoot at Piedmont Park Atlanta

I just read a great post from one of my favourite photographers that I follow and she talked all about how blogging has put her in touch with so many great people, clients and co-photographers over the years - she believes it is one of the most important things a photographer can do: BLOG!

That reminded me that I haven't been here in a while and I didn't even let anybody know where I was going.....so sorry, life just got the better of me! I promise to do better!

On June 24 my family and I jetted over to Ireland to visit my husbands family and enjoy just over 2 weeks on the Emerald Isle in and around beautiful Kinsale. We had a wonderful time and I've come back with many, many pictures, which I will share with you as soon as I can.

Right now I'm editing a fun Maternity shoot that I did just before we went away. We spent so much time together (it was just so fun) and I took so many pictures that it is taking me some time to get through them all. Today I had a good giggle at the following series - Charlie is a hoot and some of his faces are priceless. I'll be posting some more pictures from this session soon.
